It started with Kate’s family. When her dad got sick – before she knew about you all – she wished they’d had a “sherpa guide” to help the whole family through his illness. A few years later, when she discovered that Aging Life Care Professionals® exist, it was like finding out that unicorns 🦄 are real.
Since starting Care Clarity, Kate and Jeff have talked with care managers across the country about how you work, where AI can help, and where people need to stay at the center of the work. What we heard: documentation and billing take hours you’d rather spend with clients and families.
So that’s what we work on. We put our 25+ years in technology to work on the admin, with client privacy in mind from the first conversation, so you have more time for the guidance only you can give. And we get to work with real live unicorns.
Founder & CEO
Kate is a product strategist and designer with 25+ years of experience, over half of it supporting AgeTech and healthcare companies. In addition to her work at Care Clarity, she also co-organizes AgeTech Connect Boston, runs a nearly 1,500 member AgeTech and Longevity community on LinkedIn, and invests in and mentors startups in the space.

Jeff is an MIT-trained engineer with 25+ years of hands-on experience building software that handles health information and other sensitive data.
At Care Clarity, he builds the software behind each workflow, from case notes to month-end billing review.

Kate and Jeff started working together nearly 20 years ago at PatientsLikeMe, which Jeff co-founded. People living with conditions like ALS, MS, and Parkinson’s disease share what they’ve tried and track how they’re doing, so each patient can learn from the experience of every patient who came before them. That data has informed drug discovery, helped recruit for clinical trials, and supported patient-powered research.
Care Clarity brings the same idea to care management. Ask questions of the notes, emails, and calls you’ve already recorded to see what happened before each of a client’s falls, which clients are due for an assessment, or what the colleague covering for you needs to know while you’re away. The same records can show what’s changed since you started working with a client, like fewer falls and ER visits, so you can also measure the outcomes of your work.
